About this winery

Located in Gaiole in Chianti, in the heart of Tuscany, Castello di Brolio is the historic cradle of the Ricasoli family, active in viticulture since 1141, making it Italy's oldest winery. The visionary Bettino Ricasoli was behind the original Chianti Classico formula, created in 1872. Since 1993, Francesco Ricasoli has been at the helm of the estate with passion, breathing new life into it through an approach combining respect for tradition, technical innovation and a scientific approach....

Aldo Fiordelli - Senior Editor, July 2026 (Vintage 2023)

A restrained wine focused on chalky minerality, red currants and wild strawberries, with plenty of licorice and graphite. Medium-bodied and savory, showing refreshing acidity and bright tannin definition, chalky yet ripe. Tight, long finish. More elegant than powerful, with juicy depth. Drink or hold.
