Charles Curtis, October 2022 (Vintage 2021)

This wine has a charming finesse, with a bright, lifted elegance on the initial attack. There is a bit of reduction (that should disappear with racking) and aromas of pomegranate, raspberry, and mint. The texture is silky and fine, and the tannins are very well-managed. The grapes come from 0.69 hectares planted in 1964, up-slope from premier cru Aux Perdrix. The grapes are partly destemmed and given a cold maceration before fermentation on native yeasts and ageing in cask.

Julia Harding, January 2023 (Vintage 2021)

Cask sample. Lightish crimson. Scented with tart dark-red fruits and a lovely savoury edge that brings a touch of Nuits pepperiness. Firm, pure; the tannins so fine that you barely notice them as they shape the fruit. Dry, mouth-watering and perfectly balanced. Needs time.

Allen Meadows, August 2023 (Vintage 2022)

Pungent aromas of moderate wood and reduction leave no room for the fruit. Otherwise, there is a really lovely texture and good verve to the middleweight flavors that exude a bead of minerality on the nicely persistent finish that is shaped by dense but relatively fine tannins. Good quality here.
