Product notes

This Chablis comes from a middle and upper Kimmeridgian terroir, with alternating limestone and marl soils with Exogyra virgula, which brings freshness, minerality, finesse and complexity. The vineyard benefits from various exposures and extends over several communes.

Production notes

Cold settling before fermentation. Both yeast and malolactic fermentations in stainless steel tanks and barrels. Maturings approximately 12 months on fine lees, in tanks and barrels.

Tasting notes

Pale gold color, limpid and brilliant with golden reflections. Aromas of citrus and light notes of brioche and butter. The palate is full of energy, fruity, tangy with aromas of exotic fruits (pineapple). The structure is present with a nice sweetness making the whole thing round and ample. Pairings with lobster and seasonal vegetables

Anna Lee C. Iijima, December 2021 (Vintage 2018)

Smoky wisps of gunflint and lime zest lend complexity to this chalky, freshly balanced Chablis. Anchored by a zesty spine of acidity, the medium-bodied but zippy dry white has a luscious white-grapefruit finish. The elegant wine is ready now but will likely maintain peak through 2026.

January 2023 (Vintage 2020)

A combination of wet stone minerality, citrus and white flowers with an unctuous texture and a fine vein of acidity.

Supplément de fraîcheur et de nervosité dans Les Vénérables, à la texture assez dense.

Tucki noted that this will be blended with another tank that saw around 25% wood so my description is based on an incomplete sample. There is better Chablis typicity to the pear, apple and sea breeze-nuanced aromas. The attractively energetic and better detailed flavors exude a subtle minerality while delivering fine length where the finish also displays a hint of bitter lemon.
