Lively dark fruit and floral pastille flavors are deepened by a licorice nuance and a hint of bitter chocolate. This really REALLY needs air. I realise many of my tasting notes indicate when decanting is necessary but I recommend pouring a bit into a glass, sticking the cork back in this and shaking it. I originally had this sitting at a 15.5 before it opened. It's incredibly dry, no sweet fruit at all, lots of extract. Herbal, lightly bitter bark quality, purple violets, dense and extracted, considering the vintage. (SCJ)
The 2021 Pinot Noir Willamette Valley features bright cranberry, raspberry, orange peel, aniseed and lavender on the nose. The medium-bodied palate already feels complete, offering a balance of grainy tannins, mouthwatering acidity and generous, perfumed fruit. As it spends time in the glass it gains amplitude as it continues to unfold its concentrated flavors, and its juiciness calls you back to take another sip.
