Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru 2018

A ripe but fresh nose combines notes of green apple, citrus, white peach and soft floral wisps along with hints of mineral reduction and wood influence. The rich and solidly concentrated flavors possess a plush mid-palate mouthfeel thanks to the copious amount of dry extract that more than buffers the sappy, mineral-driven and tightly wound, indeed linear, finale. This youthfully austere and already beautifully complex effort is quite dry and is going to require at least 5 to 7 years of bottle age to unwind but I very much like the potential.

À propos de Burghound.com

Burghound.com is the result of a nearly lifelong passion for the wines of Burgundy. For more than 30 years, I have been collecting the wines and visiting the region. Each year I spend nearly five months visiting, researching, tasting, exploring and evaluating. Burgundy is my obsession really. Expanding on my coverage of the coveted pinot noir grape, each issue provides continuous coverage of both Oregon and California pinot noir, with rotating coverage of Champagne and occasional special reports from other pinot producing regions.
