Allen Meadows, April 2022
Maison Louis Jadot
Corton-Pougets Grand Cru 2020
Once again a moderate but not generous wood treatment stops short of overshadowing the slightly more elegant nose of black raspberry coulis, spice and warm earth scents. By contrast, the mouthfeel of the medium weight flavors is notably finer compared to the Clos du Roi or Grèves while retaining excellent punch, detail and persistence on the balanced finale. Despite the greater refinement, this too is clearly built-to-age and extended patience will be required even though this might well be approachable after 8 to 10 years has passed. *Burghound Sweet Spot!*
À propos de Burghound.com
Burghound.com is the result of a nearly lifelong passion for the wines of Burgundy. For more than 30 years, I have been collecting the wines and visiting the region. Each year I spend nearly five months visiting, researching, tasting, exploring and evaluating. Burgundy is my obsession really. Expanding on my coverage of the coveted pinot noir grape, each issue provides continuous coverage of both Oregon and California pinot noir, with rotating coverage of Champagne and occasional special reports from other pinot producing regions.
