Allen Meadows, June 2021
Maison Louis Jadot
Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru La Garenne 2018

The cool and airy aromas of petrol, smoked apple, pear, floral and mineral reduction are trimmed in noticeable wood. The delicious and vibrant medium weight flavors exude a subtle minerality while delivering reasonable persistence on the mildly bitter and warm finale where the wood telegraphed by the nose resurfaces. This somewhat oaky effort will need to add depth and I suspect that the bitterness flashed by the finish will slowly dissipate with a few years of cellaring.
À propos de Burghound.com
Burghound.com is the result of a nearly lifelong passion for the wines of Burgundy. For more than 30 years, I have been collecting the wines and visiting the region. Each year I spend nearly five months visiting, researching, tasting, exploring and evaluating. Burgundy is my obsession really. Expanding on my coverage of the coveted pinot noir grape, each issue provides continuous coverage of both Oregon and California pinot noir, with rotating coverage of Champagne and occasional special reports from other pinot producing regions.
