Château de Chamirey

Mercurey 1er Cru Clos des Ruelles Monopole 2017

Cask sample. Curious! A combination of charred wood, cooked cherries, mint and redcurrant. Just as esoteric as their village Mercurey but much more convincing, with wonderfully strange flavours that reflect the variety to be found in Burgundy – although that may be in part due to a dose of acetic influence.
