There's a slightly funky, natty vibe to this drink-now Pinot from biodynamic champion Clos Henri. A few good swirls in the glass allow room for the ripe strawberry, red currant and floral notes to shine amid the more vegetal, earthy ones like asparagus fronds and truffle. The palate is supple and fruity with al dente freshness and ripe—even juicy—tannins.

A spicier nose reflects aromas of moderate wood, black pinot fruit and a violet hint. There is again very good energy to the delicious and nicely textured, even refined, medium-bodied flavors that terminate in a lingering finish where a touch of bitter chocolate slowly emerges. This is also worth considering.
