Product notes

This wine is a blend made from the great parcels owned within the appellation by the Château des Jacques, namely Bel Air, Grille-Midi and Cercillon. They are located at an altitude above 300 m on a winding place. The pink granite varies from one vineyard parcel to another (depth and alteration), lending the wine complexity.

Production notes

Picked and sorted by hand, then often de-stemmed, the grapes macerate slowly over the course of three or four weeks. Both pigeage and pumping over take place at different stages of the fermentation according to the vintage profile. The wines are aged for 10 months in concrete tanks and in oak barrels, in our historic cellar dating back to the XVIIth century. The oak used to make the barrels comes from the forests of Allier, Limousin and Nivernais.

Tasting notes

With a beautiful deep cherry color and red fruit aromas, this Fleurie is nicely structured with non aggressive tannins that will permit a several years ageing. It is a very elegant wine. It will perfectly accompany red meats as well as cheeses (goat cheese in particular.)

November 2017 (Vintage 2015)

Layered and fresh, this creamy red boasts raspberry compote, currant and rose flavors, underpinned by herb and mineral details. Vibrant acidity binds this together, with moderate tannins edging the crisp, spicy finish. Drink now through 2022.

Josh Raynolds, November 2017 (Vintage 2015)

Youthful violet. Bright and energetic on the perfumed nose, displaying an array of ripe fruit and floral aromas that pick up smoky mineral and spice accents with air. Appealingly sweet raspberry and bitter cherry flavors are sharply focused and energetic thanks to a core of juicy acidity. Rich yet lively in character, finishing very long and focused; dusty tannins make a late appearance.
