About this winery

It was with the acquisition of Beaune Premier Cru Clos des Ursules that the history of Maison Louis Jadot began in 1826. It took Louis Henry Denis Jadot thirty years to found the House in 1859, and to establish the values of this family business. By developing the wine trade in the markets of northern Europe, he was already contributing to the reputation of Burgundy wines at the time. Product notes

The soils are mainly composed of limestone and clay, enamelled with granitic sandy veins. Beaujolais Villages is the intermediate appellation between Beaujolais and 10 Crus. - Exquis Magazine

Production notes

The vinification, Burgundy style, and the aging of the different wines of this blend take place in stainless steel vats in order to preserve fruit and freshness. The wines are then combined before the preparation for bottling.

Tasting notes

A bright purplish red color, superb concentration on this warm vintage and silky tannins. Intense nose of blueberry and peony, very fresh on the palate with bursting red fruits, peppery notes and nice length on the finish. Will pair beautifully with a charcuterie platter, Indian cuisine or grilled poultry with spices and herbs.

This dense and fruity wine was made by Burgundy negociant Louis Jadot. Rich cherry fruits have a balance between dry tannins and juicy fruitiness. Drink this ripe wine now. ROGER VOSS

Glossy cherry and raspberry notes are bound by a supple, tangy acidity in this spicy red. Elements of dried herb and mineral weave together on the lightly tannic finish. Drink now through 2023. 60,000 cases imported. — GS

Alain Lebel, (Vintage 2019)
