About this winery

It was with the acquisition of Beaune Premier Cru Clos des Ursules that the history of Maison Louis Jadot began in 1826. It took Louis Henry Denis Jadot thirty years to found the House in 1859, and to establish the values of this family business. Product notes

Bouzeron is a small village on the Côte Chalonnaise near Rully. This village appellation is recent, it dates from 1998 and has the characteristic of producing only white wines from the Aligoté grape variety.

Production notes

The harvest is manual in small crates in order to preserve the integrity of the fruit. The grapes are then gently pressed and then fermented in the barrels of our cooperage, a third of which are new. Aging lasts about 15 months on fine lees before preparation for bottling.

Tasting notes

Bright yellow color with slightly green reflections. Fruity and woody with aromas of fresh fruit flesh and notes of fragrant flowers. The palate is smooth, harmonious, very elegant and a nice tension on the finish. Pairings with white meats, seafood, crab and goat cheese.

Allen Meadows, June 2019 (Vintage 2017)

A spicy nose offers up notes of petrol, apple and citrus where the latter can also be found on the racy, delicious and lightly mineral-inflected flavors that conclude in a clean, agreeably dry and refreshing finale.

William Kelley, January 2020 (Vintage 2018)

Bursting with aromas of fresh pear, orange oil and pastry cream, the 2018 Bouzeron (Domaine Gagey) is medium to full-bodied, fleshy and textural, with racy varietal acids and an elegantly chalky finish.

William Kelley, January 2019 (Vintage 2017)

The 2017 Bouzeron (Domaine Gagey) is attractive, displaying aromas of crisp green apple, citrus zest and a judicious touch of oak, followed by a medium-bodied palate with juicy acids, a succulent core of fruit and a chalky finish. It's a very creditable example of the appellation.

Neal Martin, January 2019 (Vintage 2017)

The 2017 Bouzeron, which is around 30% raised in used barrels, has a fresh, slightly minty bouquet that is well defined. I admire the intensity of this Côte Chalonnaise. The palate is well balanced, offering lime and citrus peel on the entry. The acidity is well judged and conveys a sense of brightness and lucidity toward the finish. This is a thoroughly enjoyable Bouzeron that probably represents a great value.
