About this winery

It was with the acquisition of Beaune Premier Cru Clos des Ursules that the history of Maison Louis Jadot began in 1826. It took Louis Henry Denis Jadot thirty years to found the House in 1859, and to establish the values of this family business. Product notes

Chablis is the northernmost part of Burgundy. The marly soils give a unique character to the wines of Chablis. These plots are all located on the right bank of the Serein river, on a hill.

Production notes

Juice fermented in double pieces of 456 liters and the other part vinified and aged in stainless steel vats. Aging lasts 13 to 15 months on fine lees.

Tasting notes

Exotic bouquet of honeyed peaches, apricot and citrus blossom. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied, rich and smooth, giving the wine a structural tension that belies its musky and hyper-concentrated profile. Pairings with seafood, fish and goat cheese.

Neal Martin, September 2020 (Vintage 2018)

The 2018 Chablis Blanchot Grand Cru, aged for 15 months on the lees, has a little more race and tension compared to the Les Clos, more Chablis character. The palate is well balanced with crisp acidity, and more saline than the Les Clos, with a fresh, marine-tinged finish and a touch of sour lemon and quince on the aftertaste. Excellent.

Allen Meadows, June 2021 (Vintage 2018)

Exceptionally subtle wood influence easily allows the cool and very pure aromas of essence of green apple, pear, quinine and sea breeze to be appreciated. There is lovely intensity and vibrancy to the chiseled and attractively textured middle weight flavors that exude evident minerality on the focused and dry finish where the only reproach is a touch of warmth. This is already appealing and should only become more so with 6 to 10 years of aging.
