Product notes

Puligny-Montrachet, located at the foot of Mont Rachet with its grand crus and premier crus on the mid-slope, is one of the most glorious representatives of the prestigious Côte de Blancs.

Production notes

The soil of this vineyard is stony, with very little topsoil and immediate bedrock. It is exposed to the full east. The harvest is manual, in small boxes, to preserve the integrity of the fruit. The grapes are then gently pressed and fermented in barrels from our cooperage, one-third of which are new. The aging lasts about 15 months on fine lees before preparation for bottling.

Tasting notes

Maison Louis Jadot practices a traditional oak vinification to yield a full-flavored yet graceful wine of exceptional balance and breed, with complex, distinctive aromas typical of Puligny. Les Folatières is a wine marrying intensity and finesse, with a full richness tempered by great elegance. The bouquet, allying well-bred fruit notes of almonds and minerals, which are repeated on the palate in the long finish.

Roger Vous, June 2019 (Vintage 2016)

This tightly textured wine comes from the vineyard at the top of the Puligny-Montrachet slope, which has a stony chalk soil. Wood-aging flavors add richness to this wonderfully full-bodied wine. The final acidity and texture will allow it to age for many years. Drink from 2023.
