Product notes

The Clos de Loyse creates a very individual style of Chardonnay derived from its granite soils, which lie to the south of Burgundy.

Production notes

The 'Clos de Loyse' Burgundy is vinified in oak barrels, just like its northern cousins. The grapes are placed in the barrels straight after clarification, and there it undergoes both its alcoholic fermentation and its malolactic fermentation (either partial or full).

Tasting notes

Rich and very expressive, the Clos de Loyse presents itself as a superb white with fine fruity and delicately woody notes. The palate is lively and tasty with good volume and good tension until the finish. The Château des Jacques signs there a very pretty white Beaujolais with elegance and finesse all Burgundian. Pairing with white meats and fish in sauce.

William Kelley, September 2018 (Vintage 2017)

Aromas of pears, yellow orchard fruit, beeswax and pastry cream introduce the 2017 Beaujolais Blanc Clos de Loyse, a glossy, textural and medium to full-bodied wine that's oily and sun-kissed in profile. It's a very creditable example of the genre.

(Vintage 2017)

Le jaune pur du Clos de Loyse surprend par son nez de banane sèche. Sa texture crémeuse vous séduit par sa forme callipyge. Sa finale salivante le rend encore plus agréable. Il faut le boire jeune.
