Product notes

Tribute to history. From the oldest vines planted with the famous 1er Cru Aux Perdrix of 1922 represent an area of 8 ouvrées, the name of the unit of measurement used for vines in Burgundy. At the time, the area of vines could be dug up by a winegrower in one day and corresponds to 4.28 ares.

Production notes

Grapes harvested by hand, manually sorted and destemmed. Aged for 18 months 100% in 228-litre barrels, 50% of which are new barrels, then 2 months in vats.

Tasting notes

Very beautiful deep red color. Expressive and fine, on cherry and blackcurrant with a spicy hint (pepper, ginger). The palate is full and enveloping, the tannins are silky, the finish delicate: finesse and freshness. Pairings with a Cote de Boeuf!!!

Allen Meadows, January 2021 (Vintage 2019)

This is a bit more generously wooded and perhaps a bit spicier if otherwise similar. There is however a lusher and more opulent mouthfeel to the equally dense and nicely energetic flavors that also offer solid depth and persistence. This is stylistically different from the regular cuvée but it's not necessarily qualitatively superior.
