Product notes

Palazzo Chiaramonte (Steri) has been a symbol of political and religious power over the centuries and today it is the banner of culture in Sicily, home to one of the oldest universities in Europe. The vineyards are located in the west of the island in Trapani.

Production notes

Manual harvest. Traditional vinification in thermo-regulated stainless steel vats. Aged for 6 months in American barrels.

Tasting notes

Ruby color with purple reflections. The nose opens up to fragrant aromas reminiscent of plum, blackberry, cherry, pepper and clove with a hint of chocolate and licorice. Alliance of power and sweetness accompanied by silky tannins. Pairings with stewed pasta and meats.

James Suckling, February 2022 (Vintage 2018)

Tons of red and black plums, plus delicate chocolate character make this full-bodied and silky nero d'avola very appealing. Quite some concentration, but in an undemonstrative form. Long, plush finish that I just want to sink into. Drink or hold.
