Product notes

On the right bank of the Serein, commune of Chablis, contiguous to the Chablis Grand Cru Les Preuses. South-west exposure.

Production notes

Cold static settling before starting fermentation. Alcoholic and malolactic fermentations in barrels and vats. Aging for approximately 12 months on fine lees, in barrels and vats.

Tasting notes

Pale gold color, limpid and brilliant with slight silver reflections. Fresh notes of cut grass and floral lily notes. Aeration reveals slightly more powerful aromas of roasted and grilled aromas. A beautiful revelation of the Chablis terroir. The palate is rich, sapid with spicy, roasted aromas. Pairings with foie gras and poultry

Bruce Sanderson, September 2024 (Vintage 2021)

This white's floral, citrus, melon and mineral aromas and flavors are underscored by lively acidity. Though lean in profile, its flavors are ripe, with a lingering finish focused by the structure. Drink now through 2028. 50 cases imported.

Allen Meadows, October 2022 (Vintage 2021)

Here the natural elegance of Vaulorent is on display with its array of citrus and floral-suffused aromas that possess reasonably good Chablis character. There is fine volume and solid richness to the less mineral-driven flavors that conclude in a dry and youthfully austere finish that is presently a bit tangy. I suspect that the tanginess will smooth out with a few years of age though it would be fair to observe that the balance isn't perfect today.
