Product notes

With this Chablis la Sereine, the Chablisienne cooperative delivers a cuvée that embodies the spirit of the valley and the wines that have been produced there for centuries. The terroirs, located throughout the valley, with all possible exposure, have in common to offer Chardonnay, vines around 30 years old here, soils from the Upper Kimmeridgian which confer the minerality so characteristic of Chablis.

Production notes

After vinification in thermoregulated vats, the aging takes place in vats and small oak barrels on fine lees for 12 months.

Tasting notes

White gold color, limpid and brilliant wine. Nose that opens up to delicate aromas of citrus and apple with a slightly floral side. The palate is lively, fresh and dense with a mineral touch reminiscent of the Chablis terroir. Pairings as an aperitif, with smoked salmon, scallops and a mushroom risotto.

Neal Martin, August 2018 (Vintage 2016)

The 2016 Chablis La Sereine, which sees partial barrel ageing, has a comparatively rich and generous bouquet with plenty of crisp tropical fruit that do not obscure that essence of Chablis flintiness or reserve. The palate is fresh and vibrant, clearly with good fruit concentration. Just a hint of honey towards the finish manages to preserve tension and race. Excellent. Tasted blind at the BIVB Chablis tasting.

ANNA LEE C. IIJIMA, December 2021 (Vintage 2019)

Chalky streaks of limestone and bright green-apple notes extend from nose to finish in this wine. Despite a ripe vintage, it's a freshly concentrated, slim expression of Chablis, with a long, steely finish. Best enjoyed now–2025.
