Le Monde takes its name from the Germanic word “mundio” which referred to the protection granted by the Emperor of Austria to certain lands. With 50 hectares of vines, Le Monde was founded in 1970 by the Pistioni family and taken over by the Maccan family in 2008. The Maccan family hails from the Prata di Pordenone region and has had some success in the technology field industrial. The family had the desire to raise the quality of the region's wine to its highest potential. Alex Maccan, then 31 years old and passionate about wine, was motivated and enthusiastic to take on this task.
