About this winery

It was with the acquisition of Beaune Premier Cru Clos des Ursules that the history of Maison Louis Jadot began in 1826. Product notes

The Beaune vineyard, between Savigny les Beaune to the north and Pommard to the south, is the largest in the Côte de Beaune. No Grands Crus, but 36 Premiers Crus almost entirely located on the slope. The earth there is light and stony, hence its name.

Production notes

The grapes are destemmed. Toned in oak barrels in our cellars, and aged for 18 months.

Tasting notes

Opulent notes of candied pear, wet straw, damp earth and ground coffee surround the soft and subtle palate. Pairing with veal blanquette

(Vintage 2017)

This is a simple wine with a beautiful shape and contour to its fruit. The flavors are creamy and rich with yellow plum, ripe Northern Spy apple and fresh nutmeats. But it’s the suppleness of the texture and the bright freshness of the lees character that sets it apart. It would make a special occasion out of a lemony roast chicken.
