Product notes

The vines of this village extend between 230 and 360 meters. Oriented to the east, they enjoy plenty of sunshine. Limestone soils with white marls are perfectly suited to the cultivation of Chardonnay.

Production notes

Aging lasts about 15 months on fine lees before preparation for bottling.

Tasting notes

Rich and full-bodied wine, traditionally vinified in oak barrels to give a well-structured cuvée that balances firmness and flavors of ripe fruit. The oak and vanilla notes of the bouquet are confirmed on the palate and extend into a sustained finish. Pairings with foie gras, fish and poultry in cream

William Kelley, January 2022 (Vintage 2020)

A notable success, the 2020 Meursault 1er Cru Genevrières (Domaine Louis Jadot) unfurls in the glass with notes of white currant, mint, spring flowers, citrus zest, drawn butter and freshly baked bread. Medium to full-bodied, satiny and layered, with fine concentration, racy acids and chalky structuring extract, it's one of the high points of the range.

The 2020 Meursault Les Genevrières 1er Cru is a step up in terms of precisionand mineralité compared with the Meursault-Charmes. The palate is vibrant and well-balanced, quite tensile, touches of bitter lemon mixed with ginger and hazelnut, leading to a long and harmonious finish. This is recommended. Closure: Diam
