Maison Louis Jadot - Nuits-Saint-Georges 1er Cru Les Vaucrains - 2012

Maison Louis Jadot

Nuits-Saint-Georges 1er Cru Les Vaucrains 2012

Barnier indicated that this was not vinified by Jadot. Here the nose is compositionally similar to Perrières though the menthol character is less pronounced plus there is a note of cassis. There is excellent volume to the overtly powerful and muscular flavors that possess a seductive mouth feel before culminating in a mildly warm and rustic finish that is presently not particularly well-balanced. This could very well come together but today it is decidedly awkward.

About Burghound.com

Burghound.com is the result of a nearly lifelong passion for the wines of Burgundy. For more than 30 years, I have been collecting the wines and visiting the region. Each year I spend nearly five months visiting, researching, tasting, exploring and evaluating. Burgundy is my obsession really. Expanding on my coverage of the coveted pinot noir grape, each issue provides continuous coverage of both Oregon and California pinot noir, with rotating coverage of Champagne and occasional special reports from other pinot producing regions.
