Production notes

The wine is produced from grapes picked in the last phase of the harvest. The wine ages in new Allier barriques for 20 months and for 8 months in large Slavonian barrels, followed by bottle ageing for 10 months.

Tasting notes

La Poja is without a doubt one of the most iconic wines of Italy. Corvina 100%, harvested at its perfect ripeness, it evokes aromas of both red and black fruits such as black cherry and brambles along with floral notes of dried rose that lend great elegance on the nose. The character is warm, ripe, with vanilla and forest floor notes that could be enhanced with bottle ageing. The sip is fresh, velvety, with ripe tannins very well integrated into the wine. The body is full and fulfilling with long fruity and balsamic sensations in the aftertaste.

Kerin O'Keefe, April 2022 (Vintage 2017)

Made with the native grape Corvina, this red opens with inviting aromas of ripe black-skinned berry, cedar and spice. The elegantly structured, full-bodied palate offers spiced blackberry, licorice and black pepper alongside fine-grained tannins. Drink through 2029.

October 2022 (Vintage 2017)
