Château La Coustarelle, established in 1870 by the Cassot family, is a winery located in the heart of the Cahors appellation in the commune of Prayssac (46 Lot). The vineyard covers 53 hectares, ideally situated on the third terraces of the right bank of the Lot River, with full southern exposure. The terroir is rich in diverse soils, including clay-limestone, gravel, silica, and alluvium. The estate is part of the Fédération des Vignerons Indépendants du Lot, which has existed since 1982....

Product notes
Pairs well with venison fillet with green pepper sauce, duck breast in red wine, or grilled steak simply seasoned with BBQ spices. Decant 30 minutes before serving. Serve between 16 and 18°C.
Production notes
Clay-limestone terroir. 30 hectares located on the third terrace and south-facing hillsides. Sustainable viticulture with one row worked and one row left untouched. 28 days in stainless steel vats, carbonic maceration, frequent pumping over and immersion of the cap of skins. 12 months in new oak barrels.
Tasting notes
Dark ruby color with attractive highlights. Powerful nose with notes of very ripe red fruit. Tannins still closed, typical of the Cahors region. Full-bodied and supple on the palate.
