The wines of the Cavanera Etnea estate are among the elite of their kind and are dedicated to exclusivity. Only the extraordinary terroir of Castiglione di Sicilia, on the slopes of Europe's largest active volcano, could produce a wine of such character. The estate's volcanic soils are distinguished by their high phosphorus content, which determines the sugar content of the must, and their manganese content.
The vineyards are situated at an altitude of 550 to 700 meters above sea level. The grapes are harvested by hand. Vinification takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks. Annual production: 60,000 bottles
Brilliant ruby red color with violet highlights. Typically mineral, ripe, and elegant with intense notes of blackcurrant, prune, jam, black cherry, licorice, pepper, and faded violet. Well-balanced and harmonious, it develops with energy and vibrancy, becoming rich, warm, and refined, with smooth tannins. Pairs well with arancini, pasta alla norma, and spinicorne.
Slightly light color. Extremely perfumed with candied-orange, watermelon and cherry aromas that follow through to a medium body with firm tannins and a crisp finish. Drink now.
