Product notes

The grapes come from the Agios Panteleimon wine growing area, in the Amyndeon appellation, in Florina, northwest Greece. The high altitude (700 m) and the poor sandy soils of the estate make it possible to produce wines of rare finesse and aromatic character.

Production notes

The must also comes from the bleeding of Xinomavro “Kali Riza”, more concentrated in phenolic ingredients. The selected yeasts give a flowery nose. The wine ages for 4 months with regular stirring (1 to 2 times per week)

Tasting notes

It's the dynamic spirit of Xinomavro in an elegant and refreshing rose. This seasonal wine has a light body, fresh acidity and aromas of peach and strawberry. Pairings with Mediterranean cuisine.

January 2023 (Vintage 2022)

White rose, raspberry, strawberry and gravel aromas. Crisp palate with sappy nectarines enhanced by a long, complex, citrusy finish.

Mark Squires, June 2023 (Vintage 2022)

The 2022 L’Esprit du Lac Rosé Vielles Vignes is dry and unoaked Xinomavro coming in at 13% alcohol. It is pale salmon in color and seems sophisticated and classic in a certain style. That impression follows to how the wine shows on the palate. Light but bright, this has a textured and crisp finish. Its silky precision and finesse make it refined. It is perfectly balanced. This is a lovely food-wine pink that should hold for a few years, but it will be at its best when young. It should be great this summer. It is balanced enough to drink well on its own too.
