Product notes

On the right bank of the Serein. Municipality of Chablis. Between the Chablis Grand Cru Vaudésir and Valmur. Southwest exposure. The first vines at the bottom of this hill were near the river, where amphibians came to keep company with the winegrowers.

Production notes

Static cold settling before the start of fermentation. Alcoholic and malolactic fermentation in barrels and vats. Duration 14 months on fine lees, in vats and barrels.

Tasting notes

Pale gold color, limpid and brilliant wine. Fine, elegant and fresh nose with notes of white flowers and a light woody note. With ventilation, becomes more intense and pure with a beautiful mineral freshness. Full and complex on the palate, the volume is remarkable with a fresh palette of dried fruits and ripe fruits. Pairings with lobster, foie gras and caviar.

Bruce Sanderson, January 2024 (Vintage 2021)

The initial impression is round, with ample peach, grapefruit, melon and flint flavors framed by a light kiss of oak. The steely structure sneaks up on you, taking over and defining the lingering aftertaste. Drink now through 2028.

Allen Meadows, October 2022 (Vintage 2021)

This is typically fairly generously wooded though in 2021, it's more subtle though this isn't to say nonexistent on the fresh and ripe white fleshed fruit aromas that are trimmed in hints of sea breeze and iodine. The succulent and suave but quite punchy larger-scaled flavors evidence fine power and density while delivering solid length on the slightly bitter finish. Note that my range offers the benefit of the doubt that the bitterness will age out with time in bottle.
