About this winery

It was with the acquisition of Beaune Premier Cru Clos des Ursules that the history of Maison Louis Jadot began in 1826. It took Louis Henry Denis Jadot thirty years to found the House in 1859, and to establish the values of this family business. Product notes

The “Cortons” are grands crus from the town of Aloxe Corton in the north of the Côte de Beaune. They are located on the famous “Rognon de Corton”. The Corton Charlemagne from Domaine des Héritiers Louis Jadot is produced on the “Pougets” climate, on 1.88 hectares.

Production notes

The harvest is manual in petty cash, the grapes are then pressed gently and then fermented in the barrels of our cooperage, a third of which are new. Aging lasts about 15 months on fine lees before preparation for bottling.

Tasting notes

The nose reveals woody, fruity and floral notes. The concentrated mouth offers a nice balance and an important aromatic persistence. Pairings with poultry in cream, sweetbreads and foie gras

January 2022 (Vintage 2020)

The 2020 Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru (Domaine des Héritiers Jadot) is broad and muscular, unfurling in the glass with aromas of lime cordial, orange zest, white flowers and pastry cream. Full-bodied, rich and textural, it's a thick, fleshy wine with terrific concentration and tangy balancing acids.

October 2021 (Vintage 2020)

The 2020 Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru has a lifted, liquorice-tinged bouquet that opens beautifully in the glass (and has not problem following on from Jadot's Montrachet!) The palate is well balanced with a fine bead of acidity that cuts through the crisp citrus fruit laced with orange pith, stem ginger and white pepper. There is real cohesion and persistence on the finish - just an excellent Corton-Charlemagne. Closure: Diam
