Product notes

The Domaine de Thalabert is the oldest Crozes Hermitage vineyard in the appellation, it joined the Paul Jaboulet Aîné domain in 1834. The vineyards of this domain are located on a plain and are among the oldest sites of the appellation. Crozes Hermitage.

Production notes

The Syrah grapes are carefully harvested by hand and fermented in stainless steel tanks. Once the fermentation is complete, this wine goes into oak barrels for 12 months, 20% of which are new.

Tasting notes

Bright ruby color. The nose releases a complex and expressive bouquet of black fruits such as blackberry, blackcurrant and blueberry with smoky notes. On the palate, power is required with density and a noble tannic structure, completed by a hint of black pepper and its graphite side. Pairings with Lamb with herbs, vegetable ratatouille and tajines.

James Suckling, April 2023 (Vintage 2021)

Lots of black and green pepper in the nose, but also lots of blackberry fruit. Impressive concentration and full supple tannins that give this considerable power at the long velvety and earthy finish. Excellent aging potential, and that's rare in this vintage. From organically grown grapes. Drink or hold.
