About this winery
The van Zellers left the Low Countries (Netherlands) due to political and religious reasons. As Catholics, they arrived in Portugal and established themselves in Porto as Port Wine merchants. Through family ties, the van Zellers are linked to the Douro and to the production of its wines since 1620. Today, the fifteenth generation ensures the continuity of the company. Production notes
Fermentation took place in stainless steel tanks with temperature control. Part of the lot (44%) was aged for 15 months in French oak barrels, of which 25% were new and the rest used. The rest of the batch was aged in stainless steel tanks.
Tasting notes
Deep red color. Aromas of ripe red fruits and a unique complexity with well-integrated woody notes. The elegant and fruity finish gives way to a wine with character. Pairings with BBQ
