Product notes

Pinot Bianco is grown on the hillside vineyards of Cornaiano at an altitude ranging from 450 to 500 m above sea level in well-ventilated vineyards. Pinot Bianco has compact clusters of small, greenish grapes. It is the whitest variety grown in Cornaiano. The area in which they are grown is rich in minerals, a result of Ice Age sedimentation.

Production notes

The grapes are picked by hand and placed in small containers to avoid excessive pressure on the grapes. Soft pressing and clarification of the must by natural sedimentation. Fermentation in stainless steel vats at controlled temperature and aging on lees in stainless steel vats.

Tasting notes

The Pinot Bianco has a clear and limpid color with green reflections. The bouquets of apple blossom and lemon will plunge you towards a full and tight lively mouthfeel. Pairings with white-fleshed fish and seafood.

James Suckling, May 2021 (Vintage 2020)

A wonderful refreshing and invigorating dry pinot blanc with tons of white-peach, snow-pea and spring-meadow aromas. Spot-on balance on the sleek, juicy and crystal clear, medium-bodied palate. Drink now.

James Suckling, July 2022 (Vintage 2021)

A very clean dry pinot blanc with fresh sliced-pear and yellow-apple fruit. Plenty of juicy fruit on the sleek and straight palate, the ripeness and substance neatly underplayed. Very easy to enjoy. Drink now. Screw cap.

Eric Guido, March 2022 (Vintage 2021)

The 2021 Pinot Bianco intrigues with a savory bouquet of crushed rocks, sage and mint giving way to yellow apple and lime zest. This is silky and pliant with an energizing core of bright acidity and tart orchard fruits that add tension toward the close. Hints of young peach and kiwi linger as the 2021 tapers off with a salty mineral twang.

Eric Guido, November 2020 (Vintage 2019)

The 2019 Pinot Bianco from Cantina Girlan mixes crushed stone with gorgeous ripe pear and yellow apple to create a deeply satisfying display. It’s inner sweetness and textural depth builds further intrigue, as salty mineral tones saturate deeply, adding tension. The balance here is quite admirable, leaving a pleasant and refreshed impression. This is a great introduction to Girlan and a fully satisfying glass of Pinot Bianco.
