About this winery

It is a story that is written in the plural, over the centuries and according to the appellations. A family story, passionate and in love with the vineyard. The Devillards have been owners for several generations of 4 estates in Burgundy, from North to South, from the Côte de Nuits to the Mâconnais. This offer is unique in Burgundy. Vintage after vintage, it is the same quality requirement and consistency that drives the family and its teams.

Product notes

Situated in the esteemed Cote Chalonnaise subregion, this vineyard consists of multiple plots, each contributing unique qualities to the wine. The vines vary in age, benefiting from favorable elevation and orientation for optimal sun exposure. The diverse soil types, with distinct local names, enrich the grapes' flavors. The continental climate ensures consistent grape ripening, carefully monitored during harvest to avoid weather-related risks like hail or frost.

Production notes

The winemaking uses natural ambient yeasts in stainless steel tanks, preserving the purity of the fruit and allowing precise fermentation control. The aging is done exclusively in stainless steel, maintaining freshness and showcasing the vineyard's terroir. This meticulous process results in a refined expression of the Côte Chalonnaise, capturing its distinctive character and quality.

Tasting notes

Rich in flavors, fruity, it reveals a nice freshness on the finish with mineral and iodized notes. With a limpid and crystalline light gold color, often adorned with green reflections. Tones of citrus, white flowers (hawthorn, acacia) and flint. An aromatic wine, unctuous and firm, dry and caressing, with a beautiful persistence.

Bruce Sanderson, December 2024 (Vintage 2022)

An underlying stony, chalky note adds depth to the apple, lemon and herb flavors in this mouthwatering white. Balanced, with a lingering hint of bitter citrus. Drink now through 2029. 1,200 cases made, 400 cases imported.
