About this winery

For nearly 25 centuries, the Romans discovered the wine qualities of Languedoc-Roussillon, the oldest and largest of French vineyards, but also the most unknown. It was in 2001 that the Hecht & Bannier trading house launched its first vintage. The two partners Gregory Hecht and François Bannier had met a few years earlier on the benches of the Masters in Dijon wine trade and made friends by exploring together the secrets of Burgundy breeding. Product notes

Longtime friends, Gregory Hecht & François Bannier created in 2001 Hecht & Bannier, a wine house dedicated to the most beautiful terroirs of the Mediterranean vineyard. They live in Provence with their families. Attracted by a sweetness of life, seduced by this light so dear to Cézanne, Van Gogh or Nicolas de Staël, that of the sun which stretches over the Mediterranean, the two friends love to share a glass of rosé in Aix-en-Provence .

Production notes

Supplies from the cooler areas of the Haute Provence vineyards, where rooted in the clay-limestone soils of the Sainte-Victoire mountain. The grapes are picked at night between 3 am and 9 am to bring in fresh fruit and avoid the risk of oxidation and better preserve the aromas. Aging: Inert tanks, stainless steel and concrete

Tasting notes

Provençal rosé, charming, preserving minerality and evoking raspberries, fennel, anise and violet. The palate is fresh, lively with a spicy side. Pair with lobster, crab, grilled vegetables and goat cheese.

Roger Voss, August 2022 (Vintage 2021)

With grapes grown in the limestone soil of the Aix-en-Provence vineyards, the wine is lightly mineral and well textured. Its red fruits and touches of pepper are balanced by the freshness of this rounded wine.

This delicate, perfumed wine is balanced, ripe with warm red fruits and a touch of caramel. Lightness and lively crispness offset the rich fruitiness. Drink now. Organic.

Joe Czerwinski, July 2021 (Vintage 2020)

This négociant specializing in the South of France has turned out a solid 2020 Cotes de Provence Rosé. A blend of 60% Grenache, 15% each Cinsault and Syrah and 10% Rolle (Vermentino), it offers up scents of spiced peaches enlivened by hints of lime zest. It's medium-bodied, silky in texture and long and nuanced on the finish

August 2022 (Vintage 2021)

This has a bit more drive and depth than its peers, with rose water, lightly muddled watermelon and white cherry carried by a steely spine. A nice savory note gently infuses the finish. Grenache, Cinsault and Vermentino. Drink now.
