About this winery

It was with the acquisition of Beaune Premier Cru Clos des Ursules that the history of Maison Louis Jadot began in 1826. It took Louis Henry Denis Jadot thirty years to found the House in 1859, and to establish the values of this family business. Product notes

The premier cru Petite Chapelle is located just below the grand cru Chapelle-Chambertin to the south of the village of Gevrey. Facing east, the soil is very stony and well drained. It produces an elegant and silky wine

Production notes

Aging lasts around 18 months in barrels from our cooperage, around a third of which are new.

Tasting notes

Light and luminous red color. Aromas of blueberries, blackberries, violets and lilies. A real delight with complex flavors and a fine and silky texture. Pairing Lamb with herbs.

Neal Martin, December 2016 (Vintage 2015)

The 2015 Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru Petite Chapelle has an attractive wild strawberry and raspberry-scented bouquet with some lovely rose petal scents emerging with time. The palate is medium-bodied with supple red berry fruit, a fine sense of salinity and a very detailed finish. Not the best known premier cru in Gevrey, yet this is a very commendable expression of the vineyard by the Jadot team

Allen Meadows, April 2013 (Vintage 2011)

Very generous wood marks the nose of raspberry liqueur and wet stone aromas. There is a lush, round and lavish mouth feel to the pleasantly textured medium-bodied flavors that possess fine volume on the firm if not especially vibrant flavors that offer very good depth and length.

Pale crimson. Scented and actually rather pretty on the nose. Very dry finish. Presumably this will take on flesh and find fruit to fill its currently very obvious frame.

Alex Meadows, April 2017 (Vintage 2015)

A slightly toasty nose reflects notes of mostly red berries, earth and a discreet floral whiff. The very pretty and wonderfully refined middle weight flavors brim with both minerality and dry extract while the driving, balanced and focused finish exhibits excellent intensity and power. This is a relatively big Petite Chapelle yet it loses none of its typical refinement for it. In a word, terrific. *Sweet Spot, Outstanding
