Product notes

At an altitude of between 350 and 400 meters, the soils are predominantly limestone (Albarese) with some clay (Galestro) and sandstone (Pietraforte) conformations. 35 year old vines.

Production notes

The grapes are destemmed, crushed and then fermented in tanks with indigenous yeasts, at a controlled temperature. Malolactic fermentation takes place immediately. The wine is then aged in large, unroasted barrels.

Tasting notes

Beautiful garnet-red color. A classic blend of floral, red fruit, cherry and pencil aromas, with light tertiary aromas of cinnamon, vanilla and balsamic notes. The wine is round and energetic, with fine, vibrant tannins and a fresh, long finish. Grilled meat pairings on the BBQ

Julia Harding, January 2024 (Vintage 2021)

Mid crimson. Subtle, subtly fragrant, ripe, energetic dark-red fruit. Pure and ever so slightly spicy, becoming sweeter on the day after opening. Medium-bodied, deliciously dry thanks to very fine tannins. A subtle and refreshing style of Chianti that highlights the purest of fruit and has immense freshness for a wine of 14.5% alcohol. Mouth-watering with succulent, well-shaped chalky tannins. Long, mouth-watering finish. Needs food.
