About this winery
The van Zellers left the Low Countries (Netherlands) due to political and religious reasons. As Catholics, they arrived in Portugal and established themselves in Porto as Port Wine merchants. Through family ties, the van Zellers are linked to the Douro and to the production of its wines since 1620. Today, the fifteenth generation ensures the continuity of the company. Taking inspiration from the band's 2021 song Darkest Hour, Iron Maiden Darkest Red is a Douro DOC red from historic producer Van Zeller Wine Collection. It features the latest version of "Eddie", the group's iconic mascot, which appears on the paper wrapped around the bottle.
