About this winery
The estates exclusively distributed by Ambrosia are located in Margaux, Haut-Médoc, and Saint-Émilion. Like Ambrosia, they all belong to the same family group. The family's first estate is Château Lescalle, built in 1875 by Mr. Emmanuel Tessandier (Regent of the Bank of France in Bordeaux and Mayor of Macau from 1876 to 1880), which entered the family in 1930. Product notes
The 2020 Delmonico was created in honor of the iconic Delmonico restaurant in New York, established in 1837 by Delmonico brothers John and Peter, which gained fame for its luxury, gastronomic extravagance and private cellar of more than 1,000 fine wines from around the world.
Production notes
Total destemming and two daily pumping overs, long vatting lasting around three to four weeks. Aged for two full years in oak barrels before blending and bottling. 30% new barrels each year.
Tasting notes
Brilliant ruby color. Aromas of blackcurrant, blackberry and fruitcake mingle with touches of toasted oak, coffee and caramel. Notes of dark chocolate, nutmeg and roasted coffee beans unfold on the finish. Pairings with beef!
