Product notes

Its name on the land register - Au mont - testifies to its position on the heights of the appellation; this unique climate of 8 hectares gives pride of place to pink granite soils, shallow but more clayey than around the Moulin à Vent. Above all, this terroir is crossed by very many veins of quartz.

Production notes

Picked by hand in boxes, sorted and often destemmed, the grapes macerate slowly for three to four weeks. The wines are aged for 10 months, in oak barrels of one wine, two wines and new, in our old cellar from the 17th century.

Tasting notes

Clos de Rochegrès presents fine aromas and flavors of black fruits, rose and peony with a mineral touch. The wine is generous on the palate thanks to its elegant and persistent tannins. Pairings with red meats, game and cheese.

William Kelley, August 2022 (Vintage 2020)

The 2020 Moulin-à-Vent Clos de Rochegrès unwinds in the glass with scents of cherries, cassis, dark berries, sweet soil tones and spices. Medium to full-bodied, ample and fleshy, it's bright and seamless, with powdery tannins, lively acids and a saline finish. It's less ethereal than the 2019 without being as muscular as the 2018, striking a nice balance.
