About this winery
In 1998, Closson Chase Vineyards was born. The first commercial vintage was harvested in 2004, produced in a century-old dairy barn originally owned by the Closson family and lovingly restored as the new winemaking facility. Since then, Closson Chase has been at the forefront of Prince Edward County's wine industry, producing award-winning Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. Production notes
Sourced entirely from our Churchside estate vineyard. Whole cluster pressed then 100% barrel fermented in 20% new oak, 80% seasoned. 100% malolactic fermentation in barrel.
Tasting notes
Flint, anise, roasted pecans, and hazelnuts followed by peach cobbler on the nose. Round yet delicate on the palate. Great balance of barrel, minerality, and ripe fruit. Long and evolving finish with notes of saline and stone. Pairing with fish et meat
