About this winery
In 1998, Closson Chase Vineyards was born. The first commercial vintage was harvested in 2004, produced in a century-old dairy barn originally owned by the Closson family and lovingly restored as the new winemaking facility. Since then, Closson Chase has been at the forefront of Prince Edward County's wine industry, producing award-winning Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. Production notes
Sourced entirely from our Churchside vineyard. Destemmed with no crushing and cold soaked for 3-5 days. Fermented in 60hL oak tonneau then aged for 18 months in French oak barrels, 20% new. Full malolactic fermentation in barrel.
Tasting notes
Expressive nose showing dark red fruit, cola, fresh flower petals, smoke, and bacon fat. The palate is full and rich with excellent continuity of fruit, round texture, balanced acidity and integrated tannins leading to a long and evolving finish. pairing with beetroot salad and veal chop
