About this winery

The culture of the vine has been practiced in Alsace for more than 2000 years. We find traces of the first Hugels in Alsace as early as the 15th century, and some two centuries later, Hans Ulrich Hugel settled in Riquewihr in 1639 and took the head of the powerful Corporation des Vignerons. Product notes

It is the most consensual grape variety of Alsace wines and also the most constant from year to year. Coming from predominantly clay-limestone plots around Riquewihr and south of Colmar.

Production notes

Grapes harvested exclusively by hand in small containers so that the harvest arrives intact at the press. The grapes are transported to the pneumatic presses by gravity, without pumping or other manipulation. Light gentle filtration before bottling in the spring then aging in bottles in our cellars until it is put on sale.

Tasting notes

Clear and shiny color. The nose is very typical of Alsace, fine and delicate, with white flowers. On the palate, the wine is broad, ample, promising, it is already very pleasant but will age well. Pairings with oysters, scallops and white meats.

Anne Krebiehl, January 2023 (Vintage 2022)

The 2022 Pinot Blanc still has a flinty touch of reduction sitting on top of lovely green pear notes. The palate is juicy and vivid with pear and lemon fruit, edged with Golden Delicious apples, all speaking to the year's ripeness. It strikes a fruity and fresh balance with a mouth-watering finish.
