Product notes
The wine-growing area of Naoussa, located in the foothills of the Vermio mountain in Macedonia, covers an area of 500 ha at an altitude of 80 to 350 m. The climate is Mediterranean with continental influences with mild winters and hot summers. Annual rainfall can reach 650 mm.
Production notes
The grapes are picked by hand and sorted before crushing. After six days of pre-fermentation cold maceration at 8-10°C, the must undergoes vinification for 12-15 days at controlled temperature. A third of the wine ferments in open vats with punching down. The final assembly is carried out five months after the harvest and the last racking takes place approximately six months later. 2 months in French and American oak barrels.
Tasting notes
The wine is light ruby. It has an intense aromatic profile, characterized by red fruits such as cherry and strawberry. On the palate, Naoussa Kir-Yianni is light and fresh with soft tannins and medium body. Pairings with fish, tapas and grilled octopus
