Product notes

On the right bank of the Serein, commune of Chablis, contiguous to the Chablis Grand Cru Les Preuses. South-west exposure.

Production notes

Cold static settling before starting fermentation. Alcoholic and malolactic fermentations in barrels and vats. Aging for approximately 12 months on fine lees, in barrels and vats.

Tasting notes

Pale gold color, limpid and brilliant with slight silver reflections. Fresh notes of cut grass and floral lily notes. Aeration reveals slightly more powerful aromas of roasted and grilled aromas. A beautiful revelation of the Chablis terroir. The palate is rich, sapid with spicy, roasted aromas. Pairings with foie gras and poultry

Neal Martin, June 2024 (Vintage 2022)

The 2022 Chablis Vaulorent 1er Cru has a fresh nose with lime, green apple and light sea spray scents that blossom in the glass. The palate is well-balanced with a keen line of acidity. It's sapid with a subtle peppery note towards the finish. Very fine.

Allen Meadows, August 2023 (Vintage 2022)

A beautifully layered though vaguely exotic nose combines notes of dried peach, citrus confit and lychee with more classic elements that include those of tidal pool, algae and oyster shell. There is both excellent volume and mid-palate density to the solidly powerful yet refined flavors that deliver fine length on the clean, dry, focused and balanced finale. The innate class of a fine Vaulorent is plain to 'see' and this is worth considering.
