About this winery
Since 1998, Château Montauriol has been one of Nicolas Gélis's Frontone castles. This property, which extends over nearly 60 hectares of vines, is divided into three islets: one in the plain on clay soils, the other on a hilly ridge made up of clay gravel and deep pebbles, and around ten hectares in the Villaudric area on deep soils.

Product notes
This place, which has been planted with vines since Roman times, was called "Mons Aureolus", which means Golden Mountain. The owners were in turn the Knights of the Order of St. John of Jerusalem in the 12th century, the Count of Espié a nobleman from Toulouse, Mr. St-Plancat from 1789, Mr. Mayor a Swiss businessman in 1985, by Mr. Hector de Galard in 1995, then by Nicolas Gelis in 1998.
Production notes
Aged in stainless steel vats only for a period of 18 months.
Tasting notes
Beautiful, fairly deep ruby red color, as well as aromas of cherry, raspberry, blackberry, spices, with hints of smoke and roasting. The tannins are supple and smooth Pairings with Cassoulet and Duck
