Product notes

Saint-Romain is a small village in the Côte de Beaune, located in the extension of the Auxey-Duresses vineyard. Sheltered by spectacular cliffs, the vineyards of Saint-Romain occupy the south-south/east slopes of a steep passage cut into the coast. The soils are made up of limestone marl, in which there are clay banks favorable for white wines.

Production notes

Aging lasts approximately 15 months on fine lees before preparation for bottling.

Tasting notes

Pale color with green touches. The nose is very expressive with aromas of white flowers and white fleshed fruits. It is well structured on the palate with a nice acidity giving a very pleasant and fresh aftertaste. Pairings with salmon terrine and seafood pasta.

Allen Meadows, June 2018 (Vintage 2016)

A cool, pure and restrained nose only grudgingly reveals its notes of citrus, green apple, mineral reduction and pretty floral nuances. The racy, intense and stony lighter weight flavors possess fine delineation on the curiously slightly sweet finish that is suffused with bitter lemon wisps. This isn't unpleasant but it's a bit atypical.
