Condrieu "Les Cassines" takes its name from the picturesque fishermen's cottages along the Rhone, reflecting its historical connection with the region's commercial port and river industry. Plots on steep slopes overlooking the river. Granite soils on glacial alluvium facing south.
Hand-harvested when ripe. The grapes are pressed in whole bunches. Fermentation takes place at low temperature, partly in barrels, stainless steel vats and concrete eggs. The wines are aged on fine lees for 8 months in concrete eggs, French oak barrels and stainless steel vats.
Floral aromas with delicate notes of exotic fruits such as lychee and pineapple. The palate is refreshing, velvety and persistent. Pairs with curry, sushi and foie gras
Aromas of peaches, thyme, cedar, flowers and sweet spices follow through to a medium body with fresh acidity. Vertical and well-framed with a good balance of juicy and zesty citrus fruit character. Round and ample texture coating the palate and in the precise finish. Drink or hold.
