About this winery
The van Zellers left the Low Countries (Netherlands) due to political and religious reasons. As Catholics, they arrived in Portugal and established themselves in Porto as Port Wine merchants. Through family ties, the van Zellers are linked to the Douro and to the production of its wines since 1620. Today, the fifteenth generation ensures the continuity of the company. Production notes
Vinification takes place in stainless steel vats at controlled temperature. Part of the batch aged in 2nd and 3rd year French oak barrels for 12 months at a temperature below 15°C.
Tasting notes
Ruby color, with complex aromas of ripe red fruits and balsamic notes, in perfect harmony with notes of toasted wood. On the palate, it reveals freshness, ripe fruit and complex tannins. Long and fruity finish. Pairings with BBQ
