Product notes

The second wine of Château de Barbe Blanche, BB de Barbe Blanche, is born in Lussac, on the slopes bordering the famous limestone plateau of Saint-Émilion. Here it finds ideal conditions: a terroir of limestone and alluvial clays, a microclimate with moderate rainfall and hot summers, perfectly oriented plots, benefiting from perfect drainage.

Production notes

Vinification in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks. Aged for 12 months in oak barrels (25% new) with quarterly racking

Tasting notes

Its robe, of beautiful intensity, is a ruby red. Very expressive, the nose displays a lovely complexity, unfolding a whole aromatic palette of red and black fruits, mingled with a few vanilla notes that add sweetness and a touch of indulgence. From the first sip, it is a very pleasant wine. There is a lovely volume on the mid-palate, with tannins that are present and perfectly integrated. Pairs well with stuffed veal breast, grilled ribeye steak, or spit-roasted ham hock.

James Suckling, April 2024 (Vintage 2020)

A juicy and savory red with plum, chocolate, meat and cedar character. Medium body, firm tannins and a spicy finish. A new wine based on French-American friendships during WWI. Drink now but can age.
