The Château de Cruzeau, located in the south of the Pessac-Léognan wine region, in the Graves, is a very old terroir. In 1661, Me Jacques de Cruzeau, lawyer in Parliament, bought a small house and a few acres of land in these places. Around this core, it will gradually build up a large estate, equipped with a modern vineyard, located on the best gravel terroirs. In 1770, the vineyard, as we know it today, was perfectly individualized on the map of Belleyme. In 1841, the magazine “Le Producteur” classified it as the commune's premier cru in white and red, highly prized by Bordeaux brokers. The castle itself was built in 1912. Acquired in 1973, then completely reconstituted by André Lurton, the vineyard, located on beautiful gravel ridges, facing south, today produces elegant wines of great finesse. The reds are aged for one year in stave oak barrels and the whites (all Sauvignon) are fermented and aged in barrels.
